Feminism Untapped, a La Crosse based feminist and advocacy organization, is hosting a fundraiser at The Root Note in La Crosse, Wi. Centered around Live Music the evening will highlight women led music from our coulee region and celebrate women at large. The night is free to attend and open to the public. The organization will be accepting donations from attendees to fund future Feminism Untapped programming. The Live Music event starts at 7pm and runs until 9pm on July 27th, 2023.

Acts will include: Humbird, The Lavender Project, Cass Magpie, Esther Gvora

“One of our goals is to uplift the voices of women in our community. Tonight we start with our local artists and musicians. There has been a long history of women making change with their music, Sylvia Robinson comes to mind,” said Cassie Brady, event organizer and Chair of The Marionettes. While the number of women who have shifted American culture with their music is innumerable, the number of driftless area women involved tonight is finite. “We’re beyond excited to have all these fabulous artists helping us out. Humbird is an incredible national act from the Twin Cities now living in the La Crosse area and is already supporting local groups like ours,” continued Cassie.

The night of music will include a handful of speakers from Feminism Untapped sharing first hand accounts of the importance of local feminist advocacy. With the support of the La Crosse community as well as that of The Root Note, organizers of Feminism Untapped are expecting to have an exceptional night.
