LA CROSSE AREA PARKINSON’S WALK AND AWARENESS EVENT

The La Crosse STAR Center‘s 3rd Annual Parkinson’s Walk and Awareness Event is coming up Saturday, May 10th at Myrick Park. The STAR Center will be putting on this event to raise awareness for Parkinson’s Disease in our community. This year’s event will include a 1-mile walk, food trucks, live music, exercise demonstrations, resource booths, and children’s activities.
Bri Holden, STAR Center Program Coordinator and Facilitator, joined the Buzz to talk more about what they do and the event:

Saturday, May 10th from 10:00-2:00 pm at the Myrick Park Shelter- sponsored by Overhead Door of the 7 Rivers Region.
Registration can be done online or day of. The walk is free but donations are encouraged. There is also an optional $20 t-shirt fee. T-shirts must be ordered by April 20th at 12:00 pm.
Donations will support STAR Center Parkinson’s Disease Exercise programs and the La Crosse Area Parkinson’s Disease Support Group. Donations will also go toward the Michael J. Fox Foundation and Future Research.

After registering you will receive a confirmation email and link to the STAR Center Waiver of Liability. Please take time to complete this waiver before attending the walk on May 10th.
Event Timeline:
10:00 am: In Person Registration and T-shirt Pick Up Opens
11:00 am: Opening Ceremony
11:15 am: Walk Begins (1 mile loop)
12:00-2:00 pm: Resource Booths, Live Music, Food Truck, Children Activities, Exercise Demonstrations
