COULEE REGION CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH EVENTS

The Coulee Region Child Abuse Prevention Task Force is spreading the positive message “Great Kids Start With You.” April is Child Abuse prevention month and CRCAPTF wants to spread awareness about prevention and educate the public about the impact child abuse has on our community.
The Task Force works to make April an event filled month that friends and families can enjoy while recognizing the importance of talking about prevention as the first step in stopping child abuse. This Friday, April 4, is their Pinwheels for Prevention event and April 19th is their FREE Family Fun Event. Both events take place at Myrick Park.
Danielle Swedberg, Coordinator of Community Services at Family and Children’s Center, is a member of the CRCAPTF and joined the Morning Buzz to talk about their upcoming events!
Pinwheels for Prevention- April 4th at 4:00 PM at Myrick Park
The CAPTF invites the public to assist with planting pinwheels for prevention and setting up the banner to kick off April as Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Family Fun Event on April 19th 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Myrick Park
Food, music, and activities for the kids make this a great way to kick off spring and enjoy the warmer weather for a great cause!
Since 1998, Task Force membership has grown to include area organizations and community members representing a wide variety of community organizations. These include but not limited to Brave Spaces, Gundersen Heath Systems, La Crosse Police Department, La Crosse School District, Horizons, YWCA, YMCA, The Parenting Place, Boys and Girls Club, The Good Fight Community Center, Stein Counseling, Family & Children’s Center, Bikers Against Child Abuse, Person First Supportive Services, and La Crosse County Human Services.
