FIGHT HUNGER WITH ROTARY iFEED APRIL 5TH!
Written by Ballzer on March 26, 2025
Seven local high school Interact Clubs, alongside their dedicated Rotarian advisors, are gearing up for the 9th Annual iFeed event on Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 8 AM to Noon at Logan High School in La Crosse. iFeed is a one-day event that brings together community members, students, and volunteers from all walks of life to alleviate hunger in the world and in our own communities.
Students from numerous local schools joined the Morning Buzz this week to promote the event and we spoke with Olivia Sake, a senior at Logan High, and Zachary Noronha, a Sophmore at West Salem about how the community can help:
What is iFeed? Did you know that 1 in 11 people worldwide (that’s 10% of the global population) are facing hunger? Or that 45% of child deaths worldwide are due to undernutrition? These startling statistics fuel the mission of iFeed, where participants come together to help feed those in need.
How iFeed Works:
Part 1: Meal Packing
Teams of 12 people each will work together to pack 80,000 highly nutritious, vitamin-fortified soy-rice meals in a fast-paced, assembly-line fashion. These meals will be shipped to schools in South America and Africa, where they will provide critical nutrition for children, allowing them to focus on their education.
Part 2: Food Drive
In the weeks leading up to the event, they encourage local businesses, schools, and organizations to collect non-perishable food items. On April 5th, all donations will be brought to Logan High School where they will be sorted, counted, and sent to the Hunger Task Force to be distributed across local food banks in the Coulee Region.
Part 3: Food Collections the week before iFeed
From March 29th – April 5th, the week before iFeed – all Festival locations and Hansen’s IGA in West Salem will have food collection boxes for iFeed in their lobbies. This is an easy way to support their mission. Simply purchase items as you shop and leave your donations in the boxes as you leave. Interact students will pick up the donations and get them to Logan for the event on April 5th.

● Host a Food Drive: Organize a collection at your business, school, or group.
