WINGAPALOOZA – WING FLING SHOWDOWN FOR B.L.A.C.K.

Black leaders Acquiring Collective Knowledge is a local non-profit with the mission to elevate and empower the Black Community in the city of La Crosse. The organization recently purchased Mama K’s Pizza, and has some big projects on the horizon.

On February 23rd, they are hosting their annual Wingapalooza fundraiser/Wing Fling Showdown at Radisson Ballroom.
B.L.A.C.K. co-founder and Executive Director, Shaundel Washington-Spivey, joined the Buzz to speak more about the event, their organization, and what’s on the horizon.

WING VENDORS/COMPETITORS
1st Place $1000 & Engraved Traveling Trophy, 2nd Place $500, 3rd Place $250.

EVENT WHAT TO EXPECT
A chicken wing cook off competition. The crowd is the judge for the cash prizes. 3 local celebrity judges will vote on their favorite as well. Upon entry you will receive 3 tickets to vote for your choice of the top three Best wings. Come to enjoy local restaurants, organizations, chefs, and more while voting for The BEST Wings of the La Crosse Area!
WHY THEY ARE DOING THIS
This is a new annual fundraiser. All proceeds go to support Black Leaders Acquiring Collective Knowledge Inc. programming and operations. BLACK, a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit, works to empower and elevate the Greater La Crosse Black Community through innovative leadership, education, and advocacy. Our vision is to develop a sustainable community where Black people can heal, live authentically, feel safe, and have real access to opportunities. While we center Black youth and families in our mission, our programs are utilized by all races, ages, and professions.

– Entrance next to the La Crosse Center South Hall entrance.

– Parking on Jay St., or in the La Crosse Center Ramp 201 Jay St, La Crosse, WI 54601
Entrance Fee & Voting:
– $20 dollar entrance fee; 3 voting tickets are included in the entrance fee. Attendees can vote for their Top 3 Favorite wings.

Attendee Prizes:
– A 50/50 Raffle & additional prize drawings will take place. $20 for 20 tickets, must be present to win.
– Raffle and prize drawing tickets sold separately from entrance fee/3 voting tickets.
