RIDICULOUSLY EASY APPLE DUMPLINGS

Written by on January 10, 2025

I had a few Granny Smith apples I didn’t want to eat so decided to find an easy recipe to turn ’em into dessert. I found this one for “Crazy Easy Apple Dumplings” and that sounded like the amount of effort I was willing to put in. I told Work Bestie Sarah about it and she said her mom has made them for years.

Wanna see how easy it is?

I guess I can type it out for ya here, too.

Ingredients:

1 (8 ounce) can Pillsbury Refrigerated Crescent Dinner Rolls
1 granny smith apple, peeled, cored and cut into 8 wedges
1⁄2 cup butter
3⁄4 cup dark brown sugar (or light brown sugar)
1⁄2 teaspoon cinnamon
3⁄4 cup Mountain Dew

directions

  • Preheat oven to 350.
  • On a surface dusted w/ flour, unfold the Crescent Rolls. Cut them out with along the dotted line.
  • Place an apple wedge on the wide edge of each dough triangle and roll up maintaining the croissant shape as much as possible (You will need to close the ends to cover all of the apple wedge.
  • Place the dumplings in an 8 in baking dish.
  • In a saucepan, melt the butter, sugar and cinnamon over medium heat. Stir in the Mountain Dew. Pour mixture over the dumplings.
  • Cover the pan with foil and bake for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, uncover the pan and bake for an additional 15 minutes. (There were a lot of comments on the recipe to cook 30 minutes covered and then 15 uncovered. I didn’t see these comments til I removed the foil so I baked an extra 10 and they turned out well)

GOOD LUCK AND ENJOY!
