LA CROSSE DANCE CENTRE’s 35th anniversary NUTCRACKER is this weekend at viterbo!

La Crosse Dance Centre looks forward to sharing this timeless holiday story and its inspirational spirit with the community for a momentous 35th year. La Crosse Dance Centre’s Nutcracker Ballet has been a staple in the community, bringing holiday cheer each year to Viterbo Fine Arts Center since 1990.
Artistic director and owner of La Crosse Dance Centre, Nikki Balsamo, played the role of Maria as a High School student in La Crosse’s first ever Nutcracker Ballet under the artistic direction of Kathy Gorman. This year, 129 cast members ages 4 through adult will perform in the production.
Nikki stopped in to tell us about the history and what to expect this weekend:

When: Friday, December 13th at 7:30pm, Saturday, December 14th at 5pm, and Sunday December 15th at 2pm
Where: Viterbo University Fine Arts Center Main Theatre

This timeless tale tells the adventure of self-discovery for Maria, who receives a nutcracker doll from her Godmother Drosselmeyer on Christmas Eve. This year, the role of Maria will be played by La Crosse Central Senior, Elise McDonald. McDonald will be performing in her 11th year in a row in La Crosse Dance Centre’s Nutcracker Ballet.
