PREGNANCY AND INFANT LOSS CANDLELIGHT SERVICE AND DINNER THIS MONDAY
Written by Ballzer on November 26, 2024
Every December the Candlelight Memorial Service is held for parents, family members, and others who are grieving pregnancy loss or infant death. This year’s event will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. December 2 at The Chapel of Mayo Clinic Health System-La Crosse, 700 West Ave S, La Crosse, WI. The event includes a community dinner, candle lighting ceremony, and nondenominational remembrance service.
Catherine Pelletier, Certified Child Life Specialist and Bereavement Coordinator at Gundersen came in to talk about the event and why it’s so important:
This event is co-sponsored by Resolve Through Sharing (a program of Gundersen Medical Foundation) and Mayo Clinic Health System-La Crosse. RSVP on Facebook for updates!

Each year, Resolve Through Sharing (a program of Gundersen Medical Foundation) and Mayo Clinic Health System–La Crosse cosponsor two events in our community for those grieving pregnancy loss and infant death. These commemorative events honor and celebrate babies who have died and promote public awareness about perinatal death. Parents, family members, and others are invited to attend. The first event is the Walk to Remember, held annually in October, and the second is this Candlelight Memorial Service.
