Ticketmaster’s “Dynamic Pricing” Under Investigation By UK Government

You’d think they’d tighten things up after the Great Eras-Tour Debacle two years ago, but no.
The legendary rock band Oasis announced they’re back together and they’re playing shows in 2025. And fans trying to buy tickets were again gouged by Ticketmaster’s “Dynamic Pricing” model. Basically, it charges concertgoers based on real-time demand.
Now, the lack of price transparency is drawing the ire of not only music fans, but of the government of the United Kingdom.
According to Consequence:
In addition to the myriad of technical issues with the website, fans were hit with “In Demand Standing” ticket prices surging to three to four times the face value of standard tickets while waiting in online queues. The government will now look into “issues around the transparency and use of dynamic pricing, including the technology around queuing systems which incentivize it” in a previously scheduled review of the ticket resale market.
GET IT FIGURED OUT, TICKETMASTER!!
