ZCARE SUPPORTS THE CENTER: 7 RIVERS LGBTQ CONNECTION – LEARN ABOUT PROGRAMS AND MORE!

Written by on June 28, 2024

The scope of people helped and supported by The Center: 7 Rivers LGBTQ Connection in the last 20 years is great. They have so many programs to support members of our community at any age! They create spaces for connection, community, education and advocacy for LGBTQ+ people, allies, and neighbors.

Their programs, services, and groups are free to participate and their Rainbow Lounge is open to share space for free to our community as well. (Learn more about their specific programming below)

Be sure to join The Center and our community For La Crosse Pride in the Park – free to all September 7th at Riverside Park.

They also have a few fundraising events coming up this summer and fall:

July 27: Dragging with the La Crosse Stars at La Crosse Center – a portion of funds raised support The Center

September 6th: So You Think You Can Drag? – one of their biggest fundraisers of the year! Performer applications are open now – first timers are welcome!

Zcare, thanks to our sponsors, Optical Fashions and River Valley Remodelers, Zcare was able to donate $1,000 to The Center: 7 Rivers LGBTQ Connection to support their efforts in our community! If you’re able to support, too, click “donate” on their website.

The Center: 7 Rivers LGBTQ Connection‘s Rainbow Lounge is open for community connection and access to resources Monday-Thursdays from 2-5 p.m. They also host a board game night the first Sunday of the month from 4-7 and their crafting group meets the 4th Wednesday of the month from 5:30-7.

The Center offers a new in-house therapy service, working with MS Clinical Mental Health Program through Viterbo. Their therapist, Holly, will hold sessions at The Center with LGBTQ+ folx looking for mental health support at NO COST!
Their gender affirming closet is open by appointment only. They take donations of seasonal, gently used or new clothing and cycle it back to those in need! They are consistently encouraging shapewear and binder donations. Monetary donations are always welcome.

Programs at The Center Include:

Raising Rainbows: inclusive playgroup for LGBTQIA+ families with kids ages 0-10 with programs from the La Crosse Public Library and The Parenting Place (3rd Saturdays at 1:30 p.m.)
Galaxy: high school LGBTQ and allies group (1st and 3rd Fridays at 6 p.m.)
