Shakira Performs To Record Crowd At Surprise Times Square Show

In what’s being touted as the biggest crowd that Times Square has ever seen (even bigger than the New Year’s Eve crowd), Shakira performed a surprise show to 40,000 people Tuesday.

She mostly stuck to songs off her new album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, but also played her classic, Hips Don’t Lie.

For the performance, Shakira was joined by dancers and executed impressive choreography and even played electric guitar for a song. “Thank you all for being here for me,” she told the crowd at one point in the set. “It means a lot.”
