Prince Harry made a surprise appearance at last night’s NFL Honors to present the final award and the highest honor. The Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year is awarded to the player who goes above and beyond to serve their community. Harry presented the award to Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle, Cameron Heyward.
I loved when he said, “Ever since I’ve been a Pittsburgh Steeler, I’ve always thought God and my dad had a plan for me, and I’m living it right now. I want to say thank you to the Pittsburgh Steelers for giving me this opportunity.” Awe!! I don’t know much about him but he seems like a solid dude!
All 32 nominees were “awarded a $40,000 donation for the charity of their choice, but Heyward received a $250,000 donation in his name as the Man of the Year.” Although Cameron gives back in many ways, he does a lot of good work through his foundation called The Heyward House, which supports childhood hunger, fighting cancer, childhood literacy, students and teachers, and more.
