BIPOC MENTAL HEALTH SCHOLARSHIP FUND DONATION
Written by Ballzer on August 10, 2023
The BIPOC Mental Health Scholarship Fund was established through leadership at Peace of Mind Counseling to support scholarships for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) individuals seeking a graduate degree in mental health counseling. When the fund begins granting scholarships, Peace of Mind will partner with Black Leaders Acquiring Collective Knowledge to advertise and select recipients. Peace of Mind Counseling staff and B.L.A.C.K invite anyone in the community interested in diversifying our local mental health support community to make a gift to this fund.
Right now, the fund through the La Crosse Community Foundation has a donation match going on. An anonymous foundation donor has pledged to match up to $15,000 in donations to grow the fund to bring additional and more diverse mental health counselors to the community.
Thanks to our partners, Optical Fashions and River Valley Remodelers, we were able to donate $1,000 (currently being matched to become $2,000) to support mental health equity and encourage people of color to pursue graduate degrees in mental health counseling.
