This is crazy awesome!
13 year old Australian, Arisa Trew hit a 720 (Two rotations around) during the Tony Hawk Vert Alert in Utah on Sunday and was the first female to perform the trick during a competition. Arisa made the finals and told her coach that she wanted to perform the trick.
It took her a couple of tries and a little coaching from Tony Hawk himself, who invented the 720 back in 1985, but ultimately hit the move outside of the allotted time.
Alisa’s coach Trev Ward told CBS News:
“We knew it was coming soon. We just didn’t expect it to be on the world stage rather than on our vert ramp back home in Australia,” the coach wrote. “Arisa has an amazing mindset and will power to succeed.”
Alisa has now set her sights on competing in skateboarding at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
