ESPN’S STEPHEN A. SMITH “APOLOGIZES” AFTER CATCHING HEAT FOR RIHANNA REMARK

Stephen A. Smith knows that he speaks for a living and had a reminder that he needs to choose his words carefully this week. Yesterday, he was on Sherri Shepherd’s talk show and she asked about the Super Bowl Halftime Show:
“I don’t want to say I’m not excited. She’s fantastic. That’s not where I’m going with this. She’s a lot of things. She’s spectacular. And congratulations on new mama hood. There’s one thing she’s not. She ain’t Beyoncé,” causing a large part of the audience to boo. “The only reason I brought up Beyoncé is because Beyoncé recently performed at the Super Bowl. And without Bruno Mars and Coldplay.”
Yesterday, Stephen posted an apology video on Twitter but stood by his opinion that Beyoncé’s performance is something no one will live up to:
