Facial Transplant Recovery Help for Tomah’s Marc Hammond
Written by Ballzer on December 29, 2022
Marc Hammond, 44 years old from Tomah, has 3 children. 7 Years ago, Marc had a tragedy with a gun that injured his face, removing his jaw and nose. Since then, he has undergone 8 reconstructive surgeries and has focused on family, mental and physical health. This long journey has been extremely difficult, with persistent challenges and struggles that Marc continues to fight to overcome.
In 2020, Marc was notified that he was being considered for a life-changing procedure. Marc has been accepted to move into the preparation phase to receive a facial transplant, a procedure that has been done to less than 10 people in the United States.
After this extraordinary procedure, Marc will need to learn to speak, eat and recover for nearly 9 months, in which he will be unable to work. His friends and family would like to help Marc and his children to make this time joyful and less stressful.
Marc has never asked for help and continues to fight for himself and his family. Please donate any amount to the GoFundMe page to help a wonderful man pay bills and take care of family while he has this incredible and life-changing procedure.
