GOOD FIGHT COMMUNITY CENTER WINTER CLOTHING AND TOY DRIVE
Written by Ballzer on December 1, 2022
The Good Fight Community Center provides at-risk and disadvantaged youth in the La Crosse area with hope, encouragement, and a safe environment to develop personal goals, discipline, and values that helps lift them out of poverty, provides them with training and opportunities, and motivates them to become productive members of society.
On Saturday, December 3rd, they’re distributing goods, being collected still this week, from their winter clothing and Christmas gift drive to benefit youth in need. MTU is providing a bus to fill with coats, boots, gloves, hats, gift cards, and toys to meet this need.
Assistant Director Amanda Worman-Holmgaard joined us this week to talk more about the program:
This Saturday is the open house at their center, giving tours to parents of potential students, serving hot chocolate and Christmas-y snacks, while the Coulee Chordsmen provide musical entertainment with the sounds of the season.
They’re seeking donations of new:
- Coats
- Snow Pants
- Hats & Earmuffs
- Boots (youth 1 – adult 10)
- Warm Socks
- Mittens & Gloves
- Underwear
- Toys (suitable for ages 10-18)
- Gift Cards
Clothing sizes can range from Youth Small- Adult XL
