WISCONSIN WOMAN SUES OVER ICONIC JUDY GARLAND DRESS

A piece of Hollywood history is scheduled to be auctioned and it’s embroiled in some controversy. The iconic dress worn by Judy Garland in The Wizard of Oz and is expected to sell next for upward of one million dollars.
But a Wisconsin woman is suing to block the sale as she’s claiming ownership of the dress. Back in 1973, a college professor was given the dress. But after passing away, the Catholic University of America took ownership.
The University says the professor wasn’t able to accept gifts as part of his vows to become a priest. The woman claims as the professor’s living heir, she is the rightful owner of the dress.
