AUTHOR HAS TO EXPLAIN THINGS FROM “FRIENDS” TO 14 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER

I still refuse to believe that the 90’s were any more than 10 years ago. And it’s even harder to believe that there are people that don’t get references from the sitcom “Friends”. I’m sure that author Rebecca Makkai held the same belief. While binging on the show with her daughter, she started a thread on Twitter, listing the things she’s had to clarify. For example:
The airport thing. That seems like a very distant memory.
“You see, cell phones didn’t have a flashlight and lighters were a lot more handy and….”
