Bad Bunny Lands Lead Role In Marvel Movie

At this point, what can’t Bad Bunny do? He’s selling out stadiums. He blew everyone away while wrestling at Wrestlemania. And now he’s joining the ranks of the MCU.

Sony announced that he’ll be playing the lead role in the upcoming film, El Muerto, According to NPR:

Bad Bunny will play the character of Juan Carlos Estrada/El Muerto (the dead one), an antihero who acquires his powers from a mask that has been passed down from generation to generation. The film will be a spinoff of the Spider-Man franchise, in which El Muerto is set to attend a wrestling charity event to wrestle Spider-Man in the attempt to unmask him.

This also marks the first time a Latinx actor will be playing the lead role in a Marvel franchise film. And this will not be the first time Bunny has acted in a high profile role. He starred in the Netflix series, Narcos: Mexico and he’s star alongside Sandra Bullock and Brad Pitt in a movie coming out this summer.
