I don’t pretend to know a lot about a lot. But one thing I do know is staging a plane crash for YouTube followers and social media clout isn’t a solid idea.
Former snowboarder turned YouTuber, Trevor Jacob had his pilot’s license revoked by the FAA after they claim he operated an aircraft recklessly in a viral video. In the clip, he expressed he was having engine failure and parachuted to safety as the plane crashed in a California national forest.
According to Flying Magazine:
Jacob sustained minor injuries in the form of a few cuts and bruises from landing in the brush. He videoed himself hiking out, talking about the benefit of wearing a parachute, stating that he always wears one when he flies. However, a search of his other flying videos show this statement to be incorrect.
There was also speculation within the pilot community that had noticed there was a flat piece of land he could have landed in safely, had the incident not been staged.
