LA CROSSE COMMUNITY THEATER INTRODUCES STAR ACADEMY: SCHOOL YEAR EDITION

The La Crosse Community Theater is back on stage and also has new educational offerings for the 2021-2022 school year. The program is part of their Star Academy program, which they launched this summer.
The new program is called Star Academy: School Year Edition. This program offers 8 in-person, full-day sessions based around the La Crosse School District’s Calendar when teachers either have in-services or professional development days. We caught up with LCT’s Director of Outreach and Education, Alex Attardo, to get all the details:
Each of the 8 days is unique, so students will always be learning something new when they step through the doors at LCT. Designed for both new and experienced youth performers, this program builds confidence, cultivates empathy, and expands creativity through theatrical training. LCT’s Star Academy: School Year Edition provides children with diverse and meaningful theatre experiences throughout the 2021-2022 school year. These eight different classes are designed for children to explore theatre’s art, magic, and creation. Classes provide participants with ways to learn excellent skills, make new friends, and have a lot of fun.

November 1st- Sound of Music: A Few of our Favorite Things
January 14th- Yes, And!: The Art of Improvisation
January 17th- Martin Luther King Jr.: “Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase”
February 11th- Technical Theatre: Magic of Making Theatre
February 14th- Musical Theatre: Singing, Acting, & Dancing Workshops in Collaboration with La Crosse Dance Centre
March 4th-From Page to Stage: Creating Theatre for Young Audiences
March 7th-Spring Fever: A Slice of Summer Camp at LCT
