MTV VMA’S- EVERYTHING WE KNOW ABOUT THIS SUNDAY’S SHOW

The MTV Video Music Awards will be hosted by Doja Cat, this Sunday!
The MTV VMA’s are scheduled to air live from the Barclays Center in New York this Sunday, September 12, at 7p. The show will be simulcast on CMT, Comedy Central, Logo, MTV2, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, Pop, TV Land, VH1 and The CW Network. As of now, there will be fans in the audience for the live show. MTV announced, “The date of the show falls one day after the 20th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, and ahead of the show, MTV will team up with the 9/11 Day nonprofit on events designed to “promote awareness and action” in honor of the National Day of Service and Remembrance.”
Performers include; Camila Cabello, Lil Nas X, Doja Cat, Machine Gun Kelly, Olivia Rodrigo, Shawn Mendes, Twenty One Pilots, Kacey Musgraves, Justin Bieber, Jack Harlow, The Kid Laroi, Ozuna, Tainy, and more. There are also pre-show performers lined up.
Justin Bieber has the most nominations, with seven total; including Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, and Best Pop. Megan Thee Stallion is right behind him with six, most of which recognize her “WAP” collaboration with Cardi B. There is a tie for five nominations each; Billie Eilish, BTS, Doja Cat, Drake, and Lil Nas X, Olivia Rodrigo and Giveon. Lil Nas X’s big hit “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” is nominated for five categories. Billboard gives us a look at the full list of nominees, here!

MTV debuted August 1, 1981 and to celebrate their 40th birthday, the network has a new Moon Person! The award was historically a “Moon Man”, but now the award is a gender neutral, and botanically decorated, version, a “Moon Person”.
