STRANGER THINGS STAR SADIE SINK IS IN THE NEXT FEAR STREET MOVIE!

We caught the first Fear Street movie on Netflix this weekend and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. My friends and I loved the R.L. Stine books as teenagers. In fact, I probably read every one, but I was always wanting them to be scarier. The classic cliffhanger at the end of each chapter, hoping the reader will gasp only to find out at the beginning of the next chapter it was some something mundane.
Anyway, It was stupid hot and I was trying to avoid being productive for a couple hours this weekend so my wife and I decided to watch Fear Street: 1994. It was campy at some parts but overall it was good, creepy, fun. There was a diverse group of friends dealing with real 90’s issues, most of which are still issues today, and a queer love story! It also had some fun history/lore and I love a good “this town has been haunted for generations” story.
I knew it was a trilogy but didn’t realize that Netflix is releasing them 3 weeks in a row.
Fear Street Part 2: 1978 premieres this Friday, July 9th, and Fear Street Part Three: 1666 is out next week, July 16. A new trailer for Part 2 features Strangers Things’ Sadie Sink and the following description: “Shadyside, 1978. School’s out for summer and the activities at Camp Nightwing are about to begin. But when another Shadysider is possessed with the urge to kill, the fun in the sun becomes a gruesome fight for survival.”
