WHY IS THERE A DRYER SHEET IN MY MAILBOX?

Have you ever opened your mailbox expecting lame credit card offers only to find a dryer sheet in there, too? I haven’t, but apparently it’s a thing.

A letter carrier posted on Reddit in the You Should Know section that it repels wasps and, honestly, it’s kind of genius! Apparently, some letter carriers put them in there to keep wasps and yellow jackets out. I’ve heard of putting dryer sheets out at a picnic, or keeping one in your pocket while gardening but this is so helpful for a carrier that doesn’t know what they’re getting into! Perhaps you can add one to your box for them 😉
