TEACHER MEMORIZES 200 HANDSHAKES TO MAKE HIS STUDENTS FEEL SPECIAL

Written by on May 6, 2021

I can’t even remember what I did yesterday and this guy is memorizing 200 different handshakes to make his students feel appreciated and special. Wow. Teachers are incredible heroes, and this guy is certainly one of them!

David Jamison is a 5th grade teacher in Memphis, TN and goes by thedopeeducator on Instagram. Love it! In his Instagram post he says, “This week is Teacher Appreciation Week, and I think that all teachers deserve Teacher of the Year this year! Although every year is challenging as a teacher, this year has been even more challenging. I just want to take this time to thank all the educators for your tenacity. Whether you’re staying in the profession after this year, leaving, or undecided you’ve left your mark and these kids will remember you forever. Thank you for leaving your mark. We as educators have the most important job in the world. Happy Teacher Appreciation! I challenge everyone to do something special for a teacher this week!”

I certainly have teachers I will always remember because they made a positive impact on me! In fact, as an adult, I now have relationships with several of my previous teachers. It’s so cool to have those ongoing relationships and cherished memories. These kids will always remember their teacher, Mr. Jamison, because he made learning fun and made them each feel special. Priceless memories.
