BSB STAR AJ MCLEAN SPREADS MESSAGE OF LOVE FOR THE TRANS COMMUNITY

I have to be honest, AJ is my favorite Backstreet Boy. Always has been, always will be. In fact, I got a meet him for a brief second and touch his arm (swoon) after one of their shows! I vowed I’d never wash my arm again…lucky for everyone around me, I didn’t follow through on that!

AJ recently sad down with Variety for an interview about something he’s passionate about. AJ said, “Now, more than ever, my trans and non-binary fans’ rights and very existence are being attacked in politics and in the streets,” he says. “What’s happening is unacceptable. I’m an ally and this song, to me, screams ‘love no matter what.’ It’s about loving and respecting one another.”

AJ released this song and video to show is love and support for the trans community. He even dressed in drag!

That video, and song, is fantastic! “The transgender community has been getting pushback for years,” he tells Variety. “Things are starting to change and with the new administration, there’s more open-mindedness, which is how it should’ve always been because it really doesn’t matter if you were born a boy, but have always been a girl. But there’s a long way to go.”

So great to have such a strong force leading the force for change and acceptance! Just another reason he’s my favorite BSB!
