Behind The Song: “A Thousand Miles”

I’m a really big fan of music documentaries. Finding out what an artist or band has gone through while dealing with success and fame is endlessly fascinating to me. The media company Vice has been doing a series of videos on YouTube called, “The Story Of” where they follow the story of an artist’s biggest hit song.

Their most recent episode chronicles Vanessa Carlton and her incredibly classic song, “A Thousand Miles”. She describes what she was going through when she wrote the song, kind of hints at who it’s about, and where it took it her career from there.
