Sharing a Netflix Account? Maybe not for long!

Clearly, the folks at Netflix were plenty aware as to how many people were sharing accounts. A few years ago, they had said they were considering ways to curb users from sharing passwords. Today, there have been reports of people receiving on screen messages explaining that they need their own accounts to continue watching shows on their service.

For right now, it seems like you have the option to “verify later” but there’s no word on how long you can put it off.

If you’re sharing streaming accounts, you’re certainly not alone. 1,500 people responded to a survey and it found that nearly 40% of citizens are currently sharing a streaming service.

So, if you’re still sponging off your ex’s account (or they’re still sponging off of you. I don’t know your life), maybe give them the heads up to get their own Netflix account.
