LOOK, READ, THEN POST!

Ah. Good ol social media. Great way to wish someone you kind of knew in high school. There are of course other uses. But I’ve seen that people only use it to voice their grievances and share their snarky takes about….EVERYTHING!! And that seemed to get under my skin, reading people’s opinions regarding the halftime show featuring The Weeknd.
Why is it that we are just so ready to make sure people know our displeasure in something? Is it really that important that we must tell everyone who follows us how much we think something is bad?
More than a few times, it was a take along the lines of, “I don’t know who this artist is and I’m mad about it!”. That, to me, just seems like wasted energy. To focus on anything that we’re just simply not into. So we can complain about it on social media? Why?
So here’s a little advice: when you come across something new, reading about a musician, a movie, whatever, just look into it. Listen to a song, watch the trailer, read an article. THEN, compile an opinion. Maybe you’ll find something new you’re into. Because, learning about new things could lead to, oh, I don’t know, new interests and undiscovered portions of your personality!
So always keep an open mind because no one wants to read your grumpy opinion on Facebook.
