BRITTANY’S DILEMMA: WHEN TO TAKE DOWN THE CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS
Written by Ballzer on December 30, 2020
I love Christmas so much that I put up my Christmas decorations, each year, on November 1st. It’s just what I do because it makes me happy. Thankfully, I have a husband who supports my infatuation with Christmas and everything that goes along with it. But I’m having a bit of a dilemma this year about when to take the decorations down. On a normal year, I would take them down the weekend after New Years, but I’m finding myself wanting to keep them up longer.
I’m thinking taking the decorations down in stages might help. But how long is too long to keep up your Christmas tree? Do I care what other people think? I mean, sort of. But if we’re being honest; if I cared what people thought of my decorating…I probably wouldn’t put up the Christmas decor on November 1st.
The outdoor snowflake was my new addition this year. A birthday gift from my husband!
Some of my upstairs decorations…
I think I’ll start by putting away the downstairs tree and the tree from my kitchen. Yep, kitchen tree. We’ll leave the outdoor decorations up for a bit yet, or until my husband decides he wants to take them down and put them away (what a good husband)! I’ll start taking down the village maybe just after the 1st of the year. But my spinning tree in the living room…that might have to stay up a bit longer this time around. It makes me happy. How about you? When do your decorations go up, and come down? Whatever you decide, enjoy it!
