GRAMMY NOMINATIONS ARE CLASSIC 2020
Written by Ballzer on November 24, 2020
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. It’s a good thing I don’t gamble. I don’t play Fantasy sports or even Pick ’em leagues anymore because I suck at it. I’m too frugal to be losing dozens of dollars a year on my failures. Sure, I buy a scratch off or two a year, but I purchase them knowing I’m spending $2 for the joy of using a nickel to scratch off my crossword puzzle, not with the expectation of turning those dollars into more dollars.
The reason I bring this up is the 2021 GRAMMY nominations. If you had asked me earlier this week who I thought would have the most nominations, I probably would have guessed The Weeknd. Dude’s had a huge year with his album “After Hours,” which has already picked up Billboard Music Award nominations and win at the VMAs and AMAs. He’s logged 9 GRAMMY nominations and 3 wins in the last 6 years. But, I was wrong. Surely, he was at the top of the list of most nomination, right? Also, no. But he was at least nominated for one…right? Nope. Not. One!
According to TMZ, there’s some shady reasons behind the scenes. Allegedly, The Weeknd was given an ultimatum: “perform the Grammys or the Super Bowl — but hammering out a deal to do both could’ve cost him Grammy nominations.”
The Grammys remain corrupt. You owe me, my fans and the industry transparency…

So, who did get the most nominations? Beyoncé scored the top slot with 9, followed by Dua Lipa, Roddy Ricch and Taylor Swift, all tied at six. Brittany Howard scored 5 nominations, while Megan Thee Stallion, Billie Eilish, DaBaby, Phoebe Bridgers, Justin Bieber, John Beasley, and David Frost all tied at 4 nominations. You can check out the full list HERE.
They also announced that comedian Trevor Noah, host of “The Daily Show” and GRAMMY-nominated himself, will host.
We’re thrilled to welcome @TheDailyShow host, Emmy-winner, and GRAMMY-nominee @TrevorNoah as the host of the 63rd #GRAMMYs!
