SELENA, THE SERIES, IS COMING TO NETFLIX

Selena Quantanilla, a Texas native, was a Tejano music super star. She was a recording artist well known in Mexico and the Latino communities, and in the United States, before she was murdered at the age of 23 by Yolanda Saldívar (the president of her fan club). It’s now been 23 years since her tragic death. Selena was portrayed by Jennifer Lopez in 1997, and wow she did a great job! If you haven’t seen that movie, you should! The role of Selena is being passed on to actress Christian Serratos for a new project.
“Selena: The Series will be split into two parts and stars Christian Serratos as Selena, with Julio Macias, Jesse Posey, Hunter Reese Peña, and Carlos Alfredo Jr. as series regulars. Juan Martinez, Daniela Estrada, and Paul Rodriguez Jr. have also been cast in recurring roles.”
Part one premieres on Dec. 4 on Netflix, and here’s the official trailer!
I’d be lying if I said I didn’t immediately get the chills and have tears in my eyes! Such a beautiful and talented soul, gone way too soon.
