MAKING THANKFUL PUMPKINS #FITFUNFAB
Written by Ballzer on October 2, 2020
If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s the need to be grateful for what we have. Every day we’re bombarded with stories of loss, struggle, spite, and more while doomscrolling. Yes, doomscrolling is a thing, and no, it’s probably not good for us.
This brings us to the importance of reminding ourselves of the things we’re grateful are in our lives.
Some families have a tradition where they talk about, and then write down everything they’re thankful for on a Thankful Pumpkin. Sometimes called a Grateful or Gratitude Pumpkin, most that participate in this tradition do so in November as a Thanksgiving tradition. Why wait til then to remember the things we like about life? The things we know we’re blessed to have daily. We figured the beginning of October is as good a time as any to express our gratitude. Plus, pumpkins are awesome, and currently readily available.
How does it work? Well, you basically just list a bunch of things you’re grateful for in your life on a pumpkin. Brittany made hers sparkly, of course, and used stencils from the Dollar Store. Ballzer just used a plain old Sharpie on a pumpkin from her wife’s pumpkin patch.
Have fun making your own and send us pics of your projects! morningbuzz@z933.com
