GRACIE GERKE

WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 14, 2020
Gracie Gerke is a 2020 Central High School graduate and is attending Winona State University for Psychology and Criminal Justice. A lot was taken by the virus from the 2020 graduates: their last prom, their last time saying goodbye to school friends and sign yearbooks, and, most importantly, being able to walk across the stage at their graduation to celebrate all of their years of hard work and moving on to their next stage. Gracie adapted well and took all of the life changes with stride during those last few months of school!
Gracie had been a swimmer for the past 10 years and was an extraordinary backstroker. She swam with local club teams and throughout high school, earning a letter all four years and Athlete of the Month. Gracie was accepted into the Health & Science Academy during her junior year and found her passion for health care, especially the mental health track. During her senior year, she learned to balance it all with two part-time jobs, competitively swimming, show choir stage crew, and college prep. She’s a very hard worker, has a kind soul with a love for animals, dyes her hair any color she feels, and has an undying love for Flaming Hot Cheetos. You have to earn Gracie’s smile, but when you do, it’s remarkable and you know you’re included in the club of her favorite people.
