WE DID INDEED GO CRAZY FOR PRINCE
Written by Ballzer on April 22, 2020
Last night, CBS finally aired Let’s Go Crazy: The Grammy Salute to Prince and it was epic. It was recorded a few days after the GRAMMY awards in January but aired last night on the 4 year anniversary of Prince’s death. If you missed it, Foo Fighters did their cover of Prince’s “Darling Nikki,” John Legend busted out the Prince written “Nothing Compares To You,” Usher, Sheila E. & FKA Twigs did “Little Red Corvette,” and “When Doves Cry” and Mavis Staples even joined The Revolution to sing “Purple Rain!” Longtime Prince collaborators Sheila E. and the Time’s Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis served as musical directors. You can watch the entire show HERE or check some clips:
Plus, a fun behind the scenes video if you’re pressed for time 😉
