La Crosse Indigenous Peoples’ Day Celebration

Written by on October 14, 2019

It’s the first annual celebration for La Crosse’s Indigenous Peoples’ Day at Myrick Park in La Crosse today (Monday, October 14th).

This year, we celebrate as a community.  There will samplings of Indigenous foods, demos of hide tanning, lacrosse and double ball.  Vendors will be set up, musical entertainment throughout the day, speakers and presentations, children’s activities and so much more.  Local food trucks will also participate.  Friends of the Marsh will be guiding marsh walks with a focus on Indigenous history.

Mayor Tim Kabat and La Crosse School District Superintendent Randy Nelson will officially welcome everyone at 2:30pm, followed by Frank Thunder and his drum group. CLICK HERE for the full schedule of events!
