The La Crosse Community Theater’s first production with The Penguin Project will be Annie JR this weekend! Grant Golson came in to tell us more about the Project and the show:
The Penguin Project was created by Dr. Andrew Morgan and provides children with special needs an opportunity to develop creative skills, partner and network with others, and participate in a fully realized musical production. The Artists, who are children with special needs, will take the stage to perform a modified version of Annie. The Artists get on-stage assistance from their Mentors.
Performances are this weekend only: October 11 at 7:00pm, October 12-13 at 2:00pm. GRAB TICKETS HERE!
Annie, JR Synopsis:
With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone’s hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. Annie is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie eventually foils Miss Hannigan’s evil shenanigans, finding a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.
