The Glow in the Deke 5K Fun Run/Walk is Saturday, October 5th to raise money for the Boys and Girls Club! Abby and Nicole came in to tell us all about it!
This “glow in the dark” run/walk is the perfect opportunity to bring the entire family for an evening of fun. They’ve been glowing for 10 years now, and they’re excited to be back at UW-La Crosse! Join them through the lit trails of Myrick park and don’t forget to stick around for the family movie on the big screen at UWL or for the after glow party at Myrick Park.
Glow in the Deke is in memory of Derrick “Deke” Kroll, who lost a courageous battle with cancer in 2009. Derrick was a very loved staff member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse for over 20 years. He had a passion for helping all youth. His wife, Debby, his son, Dammon, and many other family members and friends set this fundraising event up to honor Deke’s memory and highlight his passion for running and for kids!
All proceeds from this event benefit youth from the La Crosse area at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse to encourage healthy lifestyles for youth in our community.
