John Harrison Memorial Angel Lunch Fund

The Angel Fund raises money to help cover the huge deficit in the Sparta school lunch program and is completely non-profit. John’s wife, Terri and daughter, Brittany, came to tell us more about this amazing program.
Tonight there is a Garden Walk is tonight from 5-7 at Doug and Liz Sullivan’s Home, 503 N. Water St. in Sparta. The fundraiser will have a bake sale, lemonade, door prizes, and garden tours.
The Angel Fund also helps with the “Backpack Program”, which provides backpacks filled with food for a child to take home on Friday and return on Monday.
They currently pack 100 backpacks for elementary children each week.
John Harrison started the Angel Fund in April 2019 and his goal was to reach $10,000 this summer for the program.
Sadly, John passed away unexpectedly on June 7, 2019 – the family decided to continue to work and collect to help reach his goal. This was his passion and they would like to continue the work he started and keep his dream alive.
