La Crosse Community Theatre and the Pump House Regional Arts Center announce that tickets are on sale now for The Santaland Diaries.
Performances at the Pump House are December 7-8 at 7:30 p.m.
Performances at LCT are December 14-15 and 21-22 at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
“This adult holiday classic has proven to be jointly enjoyed at the Pump House and La Crosse Community Theatre. Michael Scott is a veteran of both stages and is a perfect link in this partnership that celebrates the performing arts,” said Pump House Executive Director, Toni Asher.
The Santaland Diaries, for mature elves only, is a hysterical send-up of the crass commercialization of Christmas. An unemployed actor takes a job as a Macy’s elf during the holiday crunch. At first the job is simply humiliating, but once the thousands of visitors start pouring through Santa’s workshop, he becomes battle-weary and bitter, occasionally taking out his frustrations on children and parents alike.
The Santaland Diaries is by David Sedaris, adapted by Joe Mantello, originally directed by Anne Drecktrah, and stars LCT actor and storyteller, Michael Scott.
“Tis the season to come out to see the hilarious The Santaland Diaries produced in collaboration with LCT and the Pump House! Back for a third year in a row, LCT actor and storyteller, Michael Scott, tells the hilarious story of a down and out actor who takes a job as a Macy’s holiday elf. Things quickly go from bad to worse for Crumpet the Elf, until a heartwarming moment reminds him why the season is magical. Consistently sold out, don’t wait to get your tickets to The Santaland Diaries,” said LCT Producing Artistic Director, Grant Golson.
Tickets are $17 and may be purchased from both organizations.
