MATHEA’S DIABETIC ALERT DOG
Written by Ballzer on May 10, 2016
Mathea, age 13, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in March 2016. She is coping really well and doing an amazing job at managing her new challenges. She will live with these challenges for the rest of her life.
People with type 1 often get dangerously low blood sugar levels while sleeping. There are many resources for preventing and helping with that problem, but a very effect solution is owning a diabetic alert dog. That is a specially trained dog that can smell the glucose changes and wake the person even saving their lives.
Mathea is raising money to get an alert dog so everyone can sleep better at night. They are thousands of dollars, but Mathea is doing yard work and babysitting to help raise the money. The family is also asking a favor of you for a donation of any size.
Please come along side Mathea and help her get to the goal of $15,000 to buy a Diabetic Alert Dog that will be specially trained just for her through Diabetic Alert Dogs of America.
