This year Dave and Jessica Pehl will join thousands to walk 60 miles in the 3 Day Breast Cancer Walk to honor lives lost, celebrate survivors, promote breast cancer research and help bring prevention to millions of men and women. Last year their team raised over $20,000!

The McFlurry is a unique 2.3 mile run/walk, shorter than most and noncompetitive. There is a nominal registration fee of $10.00 and all proceeds go to this year’s beneficiary, Kathy DeGeatano of Onalaska. Kathy is battling multiple myeloma.

Nevaeh was born December 29, 2009 with a rare group of birth defects called VACTERL association. These defects can affect multiple systems, including the heart, vertebrae and kidneys. Nevaeh has been in St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester since the day after she was born, where she had heart surgery.

The Onalaska High School Art Department invites you to Empty Bowls Night

Thursday, March 25th from 4p-7p in the high school commons.

Empty bowls is a world wide project that provides support for food banks, soup kitchens and other organizations that help fight hunger.

Students in ceramics classes, the Art Club, and even some OHS staff members have created handmade and wheel thrown bowls that will be sold the night of the soup supper!

Location: American Legion in Onalaska, WI – 731 Sand Lake Road

Date: March 30^th, 2010

Time: 4:30pm – 7:00pm

Dinner includes: Spaghetti with meatballs or meatless marinara, salad, breadsticks, and choice of milk, coffee, or water

Dinner Ticket Cost: $6.00 per dinner or 4 dinners for $20.00

Raffle Ticket Cost: $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00

Dinner and raffle tickets are available in advance at CRHS, 911 Critter Court, Onalaska, WI. Tickets may also be purchased over the phone by calling CRHS at 608-781-4014. Tickets will also be available on March 30^th at the dinner, however only 500 dinners will be served. Dinners will be available for take out as well. A bake sale will also be offered at the dinner with all money raised from the bake sale benefiting S.N.A.P.

Merchants Bank and ZCare are happy to have made a donation to Leslie from Richland Center. Last August, Leslie had surgery for breast cancer. Since then, she has had serious problems with her insurance, who have left her with a $12,000 bill. She is facing a tough road with chemotherapy and radiation. ZCare was able to make a monetary donation to Leslie, to help her with upcoming medical and personal costs.
