The 4th Annual “Colon Bowlin” will be held on Saturday, March 29th at All Star Lanes in La Crosse. The event is dedicated to Dr. Gordy Kochsiek, a Franciscan Skemp Healthcare surgeon who lost his battle with colon cancer in 1999.

Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States, but doesn’t have to be. Regular colonoscopic screening can find colorectal cancer in earlier stages when it can be treated more succesfully. Funds raised at “Colon Bowlin” support colon cancer research, education and training.

Anyone wishing to participate in the “Colon Bowlin fundraiser is asked to form a team of 4 bowlers and raise money by collecting pledges from family members and friends. Teams must raise at least $20 per bowler to participate. Teams will bowl 2 games beginning at 11:00am, 12:30pm, 2:00pm and 3:30pm. Bowling teams will compete for prizes based on the total donations they raise.  There will also be a silent auction and door prizes for participants.
