On Friday, April 14th, 2017, a fire burned Werkstatt 533 European Auto Service into an unrecognizable pile of metal. The auto shop opened in January of 2015 and was Dave Colestock’s dream shop. His attention to detail and quality was evident to anyone who stepped foot inside. That passion for quality extended to his relationships with customers, too. Werkstatt 533 has always been more than a business. It’s been a family venture and second home to Dave, his wife Candy, and their two young children.
In support of the Colestock family, a Werkstatt 533 Family Fundraiser has been put together by a coalition of fellow 6th Avenue business owners, Dave’s customers, and other community members.
On Saturday, May 6th, from 10:00am to 11:00pm, various events will be taking place on 6th Ave. in the Cooke Park Design District throughout the day – all in support of the Cooke Park Design District and the Colestock family as the rebuilding process of Werkstatt commences.
From 10am – 6pm, Dwell Local will be hosting a vendor market including local makers, pickers, and friends from Rochester Area ReStore and The Yellow Monkey. Fun market food and beer from Grand Rounds Brewing Company and Restaurant will be on-site, along with live entertainment, artist demos including Intertwined Designs by Amy and Whispering Woods Art by Jeanne Debruin, and tastings from Gardenaire.
A silent auction directly benefitting the Colestock family will be on-going throughout the day. This auction will be starting at 11AM. Also a online auction will be starting May 4th.
From 3pm – 8pm, a car show will be parked at the south end of the block near Civic Center Drive. All cars are welcome, as are all car enthusiasts!
A concert in the evening will showcase the talents of Annie Mack, and Cameron smith introducing the abstracts!
To support the Colestocks and the rebuilding of their business (especially for those unable to attend the event), a GoFundMe.com page titled “Community Support for Werkstatt 533” has been established for donations.
