Pete’s Story

Pete and Lisa Ames celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary this year and have three children; Kendra (15), Molly (11), and Braxton (8). Pete is a self-employed lawyer and Lisa is a stay-at-home mother who also helps with the bookkeeping for Ames Law. They are a wonderful couple and family who are active in the community. On November 4th, Pete suffered a major hemorrhagic stroke significantly affecting the right side of his body and speech. Pete spent nearly 3 weeks in the hospital before being transferred to a rehabilitation facility.

Pete and his family have a long journey ahead of them as they strive to return to a life they can consider more normal. Lisa has been a champion for her family and for Pete as they navigate this medical issue. She has kept her family together by visiting Pete every day and sharing the same family moments they did before, it is just done differently now. This catastrophic event has caused a major financial strain for the family. Pete is not working, the family has no income. Medical expenses are piling up. There is no clear end in sight.
