Scott Nachtigal Benefit March 19
On October 23, 2015 Scott was on his way to work when he swerved to miss a deer, the rear end of his car slide and he hit the ditch line and his car rolled multiple times. The accident caused him to shatter his C7 vertebrae in his neck which damaged his spinal cord, due to the severity of the break it has left him paralyzed from the chest down. He has the use of his arms and hands but his hands have been affected due to the paralysis.
This benefit is to help raise money to remodel parts of their home to accommodate Scott’s everyday needs, equipment he requires, hospital expenses and everyday expenses. Their home is an older house that is not conducive at this point to Scott’s everyday needs. The cost for the equipment Scott needs and the hospital bills are quite large. Scott’s insurance has covered some of the expenses but the bills are still large.
Scott is married and has two children that are 14 and 3 years old. Scott has held two jobs for many years to provide for his family. His primary job is a diesel mechanic for Potato King in LaCrosse. He also worked for farmers doing field work. Scott enjoyed his career as a diesel tech (15 years) and getting in a tractor, but with the paralysis he has, he will not be able to return to either job. Scott was also dedicated to go kart racing with his 14 year old son for the past 9 years but due to his paralysis and financial strain they will be unable to go kart any longer. Scott is struggling with the fact that he will not be able to work anymore to provide for his family but if we could get him a little relief and raise as much money as we can for the family it will take a huge burden off of him.
Tammie Jo (Scott’s wife) works at the Sparta Vet Clinic, at this time she has decided to leave the job she loves to stay at home and care for Scott 100% because the care he requires is a full-time commitment.
Please come out and help this wonderful family!!
