NFL SUNDAY TICKET COMING TO STREAMING?

Written by on July 8, 2022

Football fans and cord-cutters could soon be rejoicing as NFL Sunday Ticket may soon make the jump from satellite providers to streaming.

According to Variety:

“I clearly believe we’ll be moving to a streaming service,” NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said during an interview Friday with CNBC, an overt nod by the league to long-simmering conversations about the next step for the package, which has been held for years by DirecTV and broadcasts regular-season games that aren’t available on local stations. The main customer has long been thought to be a fan of a particular team who doesn’t live in its primary media market.

There’s speculation as to which streaming service Sunday Ticket will be offered. Amazon Prime already has the rights to Thursday Night Football. ESPN Plus has been mentioned as a possibility and Apple TV has also shown an interest as they have been airing MLB games this season and will be broadcasting MLS games next season.
