WEEK OF OCTOBER 9, 2017
Nicci is a senior at Arcadia High School. She was born on Leap Day (February 29th) and is technically only 4 years old! She has been a varsity Cross Country runner and Softball player all four years of high school. She is the captain of the girls cross country team and averages 7 minute miles. On the softball field, she is known for her speed and for stealing bases. She is also an active member and the co-president of HOSA, (Health Occupations Students of America). She maintains a GPA of 3.9 while taking advanced classes and plans on attending Bemidji State University next fall to study clinical laboratory science. When its off-season, she loves hunting with her dad and sisters, downhill winter skiing, snuggling with her cats, Nitro and Nala, or playing with the family dog, Maisy.

WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 4, 2017
Grace Johnson is in 7th grade at Holmen Middle School, and plays softball and basketball. She was on the high honor roll for her good grades and achievements. Her team (Lady Vikings) got 2nd place in the Onalaska tournament, and got 1st place in another tournament. She also got a medal for the extra effort award in one of her softball games. She has great grades, has been in student council, and helped the community, with volenteering. She aslo enjoys theatre, and helping others. She also visited the Humane Society numerous times, and visited the elderly to help out. There's no doubt that Grace is determined, smart, caring, and athletic.

AND THE GEEKS REJOICED: Today is “Force Friday 2,” with new “Star Wars” toys hitting shelves. Reports say some of the new toys for “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” may give clues to the plot line of the movie, out December 15th.
THAT'S A LOT OF VERYS: Sam Smith is working on new music. He posted; "The wait is so nearly over. Something is coming very very very very soon."
STILL TOO LONG: Fox Networks will begin showing six-second advertisements during NFL games starting September 10th. It’s to keep NFL fans watching the TV screen instead of checking their phones.
ANOTHER BABY! The Daily Star, claims Adele wants to be pregnant by her next birthday on May 5, 2018. No pressure though...
Project My Neighborhood is attempting a world record for largest Nerf Battle in Blaine, MN at The National Sports Center on Saturday October 14th. They're looking for more than 3,500 participants and 200 inflatables as barriers.

They're doing it for October National Bullying Prevention month. This is a free event asking for voluntary donations ($10 per player) with proceeds going to PACER.org and Project My Neighborhood's #blastingtobattlebullying campaign.
