After more than four decades in front of the camera, Kyle Richards is stepping behind it to bring her ideas, and a fictionalized version of her life, to the small screen. She currently serves as a co-executive producer of “American Woman,” a dramedy series inspired by her childhood, starring Alicia Silverstone, Mena Suvari and Jennifer Bartels, about a single mom (Silverstone) who struggles to raise her two daughters. The series debuts on the new Paramount Network on Thursday, June 7 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. Richards is executive producer of two other shows in development, “Glass Houses” for ABC and “The Corridor” with Chernin Entertainment.

With a love of fashion, Richards is also a successful entrepreneur who runs her own high-end retail boutique, Kyle by Alene Too. Personally curating its stock of women’s designer apparel, shoes, and accessories, she has overseen its steady expansion to three locations – Beverly Hills, Manhattan, and Southampton – with others on the horizon.

A California native, Kyle Richards was born into an acting family in Hollywood, California. She landed her first role at age four in the Disney classic, Escape to Witch Mountain, playing the younger version of her real-life sister, Kim Richards.  Among over 100 film and television credits is a recurring role on “E.R.,” seven years on “Little House on the Prairie” and 105 episodes on the TBS family comedy “Down To Earth,” in addition to guest spots on programs like “CSI” and daytime work including “Days of Our Lives.” More recently she has become a fixture on reality television through eight seasons on Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” as well as a recent appearance on NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice.” On the big screen, Richards is known for her role in the original 1978 Halloween in addition to such features as Curfew and The Watcher in the Woods, alongside screen legend Bette Davis for which she was also nominated for a Young Artist Award.

Her husband, Mauricio Umansky, is one of the nation’s top realtors and founder and CEO of the luxury real estate brokerage, The Agency. Notwithstanding her success in many realms, Kyle Richards’ greatest passion and joy is being a mother to her four daughters: Farrah, Alexia, Sophia and Portia.
